Arrangement 

The boost pressure positioner is located below on the turbocharger.

Task 

The boost pressure positioner adjusts the guide vanes in the turbocharger and thus regulates the boost pressure.

Design 

The charge pressure positioner consists of an electronic circuit board integrated in the housing and an actuator motor which operates the adjusting shaft by means of a worm drive.

Function 

The CDI control unit (N3/9) actuates the boost pressure positioner to achieve boost pressure control.

The position of the guide vanes in the exhaust turbine is determined by the control linkage. Thus the boost pressure is adapted to the momentary load status of the engine.

The boost pressure positioner is fitted with a position feedback device for exact and flexible control of the boost pressure.
