Fault symptoms in telephone mode:

"Telephone being activated, please wait" is shown constantly in the display.
During a telephone call, the driver (or the front passenger) can at times not be understood.
The telephone is not always detected by the system after the engine is started: "Please wait" is shown constantly in the display.
PIN entry "OK" sometimes does not work, both when using fixed- function keys (hardkeys) or multifunction buttons (softkeys).
Connection to network provider is occasionally interrupted due to low reception strength.
After telephone call is terminated: head unit does not always return to last operating mode.
DVD is active and a telephone call is made. The key is withdrawn and the telephone call is terminated. The shutting down of the head unit causes a temporary loss of telephone service.

Fault symptoms in DVD mode:

If the engine is started during CD or DVD playback from COMAND drive, audio sometimes comes from CD in CD changer instead of from COMAND drive.
Function "Last operating mode" does not always work properly.
Drive resets occasionally occur.
DVD volume is significantly louder than CD and radio volume.
DVD forward function faulty.

COMAND on/off switching problems:

Crackling noise sometimes heard when activating system using the "ON" button.
Crackling noise sometimes heard following engine start.
Occasional, brief audio dropouts after unit is switched on.
When the system is restarted, the source is automatically changed.
Battery discharge. System does not shut down after it has been woken up by an incoming call (telephone adapter only).
Battery discharge. System does not shut down after at least one call has been made via the telephone adapter. ON/OFF button is nonfunctional.

Fault symptoms in Navigation mode:

A black map is sometimes shown after Navigation mode is activated.
Destination not always clearly identified when selected by means of postal (zip) code.
After the route has been calculated, the route map is not always updated.
5 km and 10 km scale: no destination flag shown during route guidance.
Navigation mode sometimes crashes during route guidance.
After system and navigation mode have been started, the error message "Navigation device unavailable" sometimes appears.
Route is sometimes lost following restart.
The message "Navigation, device defective" sometimes appears in the head unit.
The "Info, details" menu is not present for "Destinations/POIs".
Following destination calculation, there is sometimes no direction indicator in the instrument cluster.
The blue route does not always match the traveled route.

Fault symptoms in the head unit:

Manual voice output for navigation sometimes does not function during a telephone call.
Change of station using the "Station search forward/back" buttons is not always possible.
TP volume cannot be changed using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
Head unit can be switched off when the ignition key is in the 0 position.
When saving a telephone number to the address book using the "Add" command, the message "Save attempt failed" sometimes appears.
Incorrect display of e-mail addresses in the "Home/work" menu.
CD track cannot always be selected directly.
Function "Last operating mode" does not always work properly in radio mode.
Head unit resets sometimes occur after closing address book.
CD options are lost.
SMS sometimes not available on head unit.
Clock in instrument cluster may be set back by one hour.
Instrument cluster display is not always in sync with head unit display in the "Audio and Navigation" menu.
Switch to AUX mode sometimes causes noise.
Disturbance noise sometimes heard in audio system.
Instrument cluster display empty.
16:9 and zoom is not selectable in TV mode (automatic lock back to 4:3).
Head unit can output the wrong part number or hardware status during diagnosis, but the software status is always shown correctly.
While in operation, 4 dashes are shown in the instrument cluster.

Fault symptoms when using address book:

Head unit sometimes shows wrong entry in address book for saved navigation destinations (incorrect name-to-address match). - New entry not automatically deleted following abort.
Import from SIM card to address book not always correct.
Export from address book sometimes causes multiple entries in mobile phone handset.
