Remove/install belt drive components - AR13.20-P-0001TS

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by moving parts that can pinch, crush  or, in extreme cases, even sever  extremities No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
1 Pull out front engine cover (1) from mounts    
2 Loosen poly-V belt (2) and remove IMPORTANT To do this, swivel tensioning device (3) in anti-clockwise direction at hexagon (4) (arrow). Remove poly-V-belt (2) and release tension at tensioning device (3).  
INSPECT Checking     
3 Inspect belt pulley sections, tensioning device (3) and guide pulleys (5) Check for damage, wear and dirt; replace if necessary.  
4 Check poly-V belt (2) and replace if required    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check poly-V belt for wear and damage   AP13.22-P-1352TS
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove, install tensioning device  IMPORTANT Only perform steps 5 through 8 for remove/install of clamping device (3).  
5 Lock tensioning device (3) IMPORTANT Swivel clamping device (3) at hexagon (4) in an anti-clockwise direction and lock in place using drift (6).  
6 Remove bolts (3b) and remove clamping device (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA13.25-P-1001-01P 
7 Slacken tensioning device (3) When replacing the clamping device (3)
IMPORTANT Clamp tensioning device (3) in a vise, swivel at hexagon (4) in an anti-clockwise direction, pull out drift (6) and slacken tensioning device (3).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  The tensioning device (3) can only be installed when locked.
 
8 Install in the reverse order    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install guide pulleys  IMPORTANT Only perform steps 9 through 12 for remove/install of guide pulleys (5).  
9 Pry off covers (5b)    
10 Remove bolts (5a) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA20.10-P-1004-01U 
11 Remove guide pulleys (5)    
12 Install in the reverse order    
INSTALLING Install     
13 Fit on poly-V belt (2), then clamp IMPORTANT To do this, swivel tensioning device (3) in anti-clockwise direction at hexagon (4) (arrow). Mount poly-V-belt (2) as shown on routing diagram and release tensioning device (3).

NOTES Do not use wax or similar products, as this may cause poly-V belt (2) to slip.

14 Install front engine cover (1)
