Removal & Installation

  1. Raise vehicle and support.
  2. Remove parking brake shoes. See PARKING BRAKE SHOES  .
  3. Remove front brake cable (85) at intermediate lever (91). See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove brake cables (86) from equalizer arm (92).
  5. Remove brake cables from bracket on rear axle carrier using snap release tool (043).
  6. Remove self-locking bolt (98) on wheel carrier.
  7. Remove brake cables from wheel carrier.
  8. Installation is reverse of removal. Install new self-locking bolts (93 and 98). Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
