Removal & Installation
- Remove wiper system to facilitate removal of brake booster. See Wiper/Washer Systems.
- Remove brake master cylinder. See BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER .
- Remove diaphragm travel sensor connector (A7/7x1) from Brake Assist (BAS) diaphragm travel sensor (A7/7b1). See Fig 1 .
- Remove connector from BAS release switch (A7/7s1).
- Remove vacuum line (8) at brake booster (16).
- Pull out Motor Electronics-Sequential Multiport Injection/Ignition System (ME-SFI) control unit and place to one side.
- Remove bolts from front Signal Register and Selection Module (SAM) with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
- Unlock and pull out rail (2) on module box.
- Remove brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH .
- Remove cover of pedal assembly.
- Remove locking device (25) on brake booster to brake pedal.
- Remove bolt (26).
- Remove fixing nuts (23) of brake booster.
- Remove brake booster (16).
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
NOTE:
DO NOT detach any connectors.
