Control module programing vehicle equipment airbag - AD91.60-P-2000-11A

After the control module is replaced the airbag indicator and warning lamp SRS (A1e15) flashes or illuminates as the control module is still not programmed and parameterized.

The control module can only be programmed and parameterized using the Hand-Held Tester (HHT). The following procedure is to be observed when programming:

  1. Vehicle equipment - control modules without side airbag

The front passenger airbag equipment is programmed to YES on the parts control modules.

The seat belt buckle equipment is programmed to NO.

Vehicle equipment - control modules with side airbag

The side airbag equipment is programmed to YES on the parts control modules.

The seat belt buckle equipment is programmed to YES.

The seat occupied recognition equipment is programmed to YES.

  2. Parameterizing

The equipment is to be modified accordingly, if necessary.

    e. g.: Vehicle with driver airbag

    Programming:

Set front passenger airbag to NO

    Switch ignition off and on

Read out and erase fault memory

Airbag indicator and warning lamp SRS (A1e15) flashes, carry out parameterizing

When a front passenger airbag is retrofitted, the control module no longer has to be replaced, only reprogrammed (Hand-Held Tester).

On model 124 an interrogation of whether this is a standard production airbag is carried out in the programming menu item.

IMPORTANT

If the answer is incorrect, the control module is defective after parameterizing.
