Remove/install tie rod and replacement of rubber mount - AR35.20-P-0112B: Notes

Modification notes

12.11.98 Bolted connection, tie rod to wheel carrier modified   BT35.20-P-0009-01A
    New tightening torque applied, see Fig. item 4. *BA35.20-P-1002-04A 
Fig. item, etc. Work instructions    
NOTESInstallation  Replace self-locking nuts    
DANGER Risk of death.  Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
  Check toe at rear axle and adjust if necessary IMPORTANT Following installation AR40.20-P-0332A
4 Tie rod NOTES Do not damage rubber boot.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench for tie rod hexagon nut at rear axle carrier. Figure

    NOTES The rear axle shaft must be horizontal when tightening the nuts
Clean grease off ball head bolt and conical seat in wheel carrier.
Press ball head bolt into cone, hold with Allen wrench if necessary.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Tie rod to wheel carrier:↓ *BA35.20-P-1002-04A 
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Bolted connection, tie rod to wheel carrier modified Models 129, 140, 170, 202, 208, 210 BT35.20-P-0009-01A
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Tie rod to rear axle carrier *BA35.20-P-1001-04A 
4a Cam bolt IMPORTANTInstalled position:  Mark cam bolt relative to rear axle carrier (arrow).  
4B Rubber mount on tie rod INSPECT If necessary after checking: ↓  
    Remove/install rubber mount on tie rod AR35.20-P-0112-01B 
    SPECIAL TOOL Extraction and insertion tool Figure
20a Detach, attach bracket If installed.  
20a Unclip, clip in rear axle rpm sensor line If installed.
IMPORTANT Right-hand side: In addition line for brake wear indicator.
