Replace brake fluid - AP42.00-P-4280R

MODEL 230 except CODE (P99) "AMG Black Series" special model

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by body parts being jammed or crushed. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by brake fluid spraying out at high pressure when working on the SBC brake system Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS. AS42.46-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1 Connect battery charger IMPORTANT It must be possible to raise the vehicle with the battery charger connected.  
2 Unscrew cap (11) of brake fluid reservoir (10)    
3 Extract brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir (10)    
4 Pour in new brake fluid up to the "MAX" mark on the brake fluid reservoir (10)    
5 Connect brake fluid changing equipment NOTES Only approved brake fluid changing equipment may be used, otherwise malfunctions in the SBC system may occur.
IMPORTANT Follow directions in operating manual supplied by manufacturer.
Set bleeding pressure to between 2 bar and 2.5 bar.

6 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS system  
IMPORTANT It must be possible to raise the vehicle with the STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnostic system connected.
Position diagnostic system such that its display screen can be seen from the driver seat.
IMPORTANT Pay attention to the diagnostic connector when entering the vehicle.
 
7 Raise vehicle    
8 Remove wheels Only if the bleed screw is not accessible.

    Model 219 AP40.10-P-4050TX
9 Have empty receptacle ready IMPORTANT Total quantity for change up to 2250 ml.

10 Carry out brake fluid changing process with STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT The following steps should be run through in STAR DIAGNOSIS:
Select menu item "SBC-Sensotronic Brake Control" and appropriate menu item for brake fluid change.
Then process all the individual steps from top to bottom.
IMPORTANT Extremely high pressure: Secure bleed hose with electrohydraulic brake adapter to prevent it from slipping off the bleed screw.
 
    Front bleed screw: *BA42.10-P-1002-10 
    Rear bleed screw: *BA42.10-P-1001-12 
    SPECIAL TOOL EHB adapter Fig 3
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Check fluid level in brake fluid reservoir (10), correct if necessary IMPORTANT The fluid level must be between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks embossed in the brake fluid expansion reservoir. AP42.10-P-4210Z
