Component description for the camshaft Hall sensor - GF07.04-P-6020SM

ENGINE 113.986

ENGINE 113.987

ENGINE 113.988

ENGINE 113.989

The camshaft Hall sensor is located at the front on the right cylinder head.

Task

The ME control unit (N3/10) detects the ignition TDC position of cylinder 1 from the signal supplied by the camshaft Hall sensor and synchronizes the injection and firing sequence.

Function

The signal from the camshaft Hall sensor allows the rapid start function to operate when the engine is stopped.

If no signal is received from the camshaft Hall sensor, the ME-SFI control unit determines the ignition TDC of cylinder 1 randomly. The engine starts about 1 second later and the exhaust emission values when starting are not optimal.

IMPORTANT

The distance between the camshaft Hall sensor and the segment at the camshaft sprocket is not adjustable and therefore is determined by its installation position.

The signal line of the camshaft Hall sensor has a voltage signal of approx. 12 V ("high"). If the segment of the camshaft sprocket moves past the camshaft Hall sensor, the signal increases incrementally 0 V ("low").

The "0-V signal" is used for detecting ignition TDC of cylinder 1.
