Gear indicator (A1p12), up to 08.09.2002 

• The gear indicator (A1p1) is a liquid crystal display.
• It displays the selected shift range (1-4) or the selector lever position (D-P) and the selected transmission mode (W or S). It may take up to one minute for the displayed transmission mode to be updated.
• The required data comes from the ETC control unit (N15/3) via the engine compartment CAN.

The display panel remains dark if there are errors in the CAN signals.
