	Removing, installing
	Risk of injury  when carrying out test or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units	Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 °C. Interrupt power supply when working on such units	AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1	Withdraw ignition key
2	Remove rear seat backrest		AR91.12-P-1620MA
3	Remove side wall paneling	Installation: When side airbag is triggered, replace side wall paneling	AR68.30-P-1450N
4	Disconnect connector from left/right side airbag squib (R12/11 and. R12/12)	Installation: Connector should catch audibly when arresting
5	Unscrew nuts (1) from retaining plate of side airbag unit (2)
6	Remove side airbag unit	Disposal: When the side airbag is replaced dispose of defect side airbag properly: ↓

7	Make airbag units unusable		AR91.60-P-0611A
8	Install in the reverse order
