Model 220
The taxi functions are explained in the operating instructions for taxis and taximeters.
Proper knowledge of the taxi functions are a prerequisite for proper programming of the taxi functions.
When taxi equipment is retrofitted in the W220 it is necessary to activate the individual taxi functions with STAR diagnosis.
For this purpose perform the following steps in the diagnosis modules.
| Start-up step | Entry into system | Feedback on display | |
| 1 | Activating special vehicle multifunction control module (SVMCM) | Select control module | Control modules |
| 2 | Select body | Body | |
| 3 | EIS electronic ignition switch | Connection is completed | |
| 4 | Adapt control modules | Read coding and change as required | |
| 5 | Read coding versions and change as required | Control modules | |
| 6 | Special vehicle multifunction control module (SVMCM) | SVMCM present: yes Version coding for SVMCM | |
| 7 | Set coding to taxi | Transfer coding | |
| 8 | Return to SVMCM selection display and activate SVMCM | SVMCM multifunction control module present | |
| 9 | Set coding to SVMCM | Transfer coding | |
| 10 | Return to body | - | |
| 11 | Select SVMCM | Special vehicle multifunction control module (SVMCM) | |
| 12 | - | Complete connection to SVMCM | |
| 13 | Adapt control modules | Set control module to basic setting | |
| 14 | Set control module to basic setting | Control modules. Basic setting performed |
|
| 15 | Perform settings depending on taxi functions installed | Taxi = yes Emergency alarm = yes Emergency call = depending on version |
|
| 16 | Transfer settings | Transfer coding yes | |
| 17 | Customer specific vehicle adaptation | Read coding and change if required | Only if basic functions are to be changed for specific customer. |
| With these functions the roof sign, the two-way radio, the type of alarm and the emergency call can be activated specifically as required by the customer. | Transfer coding to control module yes |
