Expand fiber optical cable ring for component to be retrofitted - AN82.64-P-0001-05MO

Shown on vehicle with sound system (code 810)

  1. Pull off connector housing (10) from the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).
  2. Press locking tab (arrow in magnifier) outward slightly and pull the MOST coupling (13) at the MOST fiber optical cable modules (7, 9) out of the coupling housing (10).

NOTESRisk of breakage!  Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.

  3. Expose MOST fiber optical cable module (9) by approx. 300 mm from the standard wiring harness (23).

IMPORTANT The MOST fiber optical cable module and standard wiring harness (23) are attached to the bracket (6) with two tie straps (arrows).

  4. Remove blue retaining clip (5) from the MOST coupling (13). Remove the MOST fiber optical cable module (9) from the output (see arrow on the coupling) of the MOST coupling (13).

IMPORTANT Push locking tab of the MOST coupling (13) outwards a little to do this. The MOST fiber optical cable module (7) (audio gateway control unit input (N93/1)) remains in the MOST coupling (13).

  5. Push the locking tab (arrow) of the MOST coupling housing (11) outward a little and pull the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) with MOST coupling (14) ordered for retrofitting out of the MOST coupling housing (11).

IMPORTANT The exposed insert (inner magnifier) at the other end of the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) will be inserted later into the MOST coupling (13) of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).

NOTESRisk of breakage!  Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.

  6. Insert the exposed insert of the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) ordered for retrofitting into the output (see arrow on the coupling) of the MOST coupling (13) removed from the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and secure with blue retaining clip (5).

IMPORTANT The MOST fiber optical cable module (8) has to latch audibly into the MOST coupling (13).

  7. Clip MOST coupling (13) into the coupling housing (10) again.

IMPORTANT The MOST coupling (13) has to latch audibly into the coupling housing (10).

  8. Connect coupling housing (10) to audio gateway control unit (N93/1).

  9. Remove blue retaining clip (5) from the MOST coupling (14) ordered for retrofitting.

IMPORTANT The MOST fiber optical cable module (8) ordered for retrofitting has to be inserted into the input of the MOST coupling (14).

  10. Insert fiber optical cable module (9) that was removed from the MOST coupling (13) into the output (see arrow on coupling) of the MOST coupling (14) and secure with blue retaining clip (5).

IMPORTANT The fiber optical cable module (9) has to latch audibly into the MOST coupling (14).

  11. Clip MOST coupling (14) into the MOST coupling housing (11).

IMPORTANT The MOST coupling (14) has to latch audibly into the MOST coupling housing (11).

IMPORTANT MOST coupling housing (11) will be connected later to CD player with changer (in luggage compartment) (A2/6).

IMPORTANT The MOST coupling housing (11) will later be connected to the CD player with changer (inside luggage compartment) (A2/6), (pictures with CD player serve better understanding).

  12. Attach MOST lines to standard wiring harness (23) using felt adhesive tape as shown in the picture (arrows).

NOTESDo not buckle or extend MOST fiber optical cable, routing radii must be greater than 25 mm!

  13. Attach standard wiring harness and MOST fiber optical cable to bracket (6) using two tie straps (arrows).

NOTESRisk of breakage!  Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.

IMPORTANT Bracket (6) for sound and TV is later installed and fastened inside the wheelhouse recess before installing the CD player with changer (inside luggage compartment) (A2/6).
