Retrofitting CD changer - AN82.64-P-0001NO: Notes

REMOVING Remove     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Disconnect battery ground line

IMPORTANT Notes on AGM battery Model 215 as of 1.1.01. AH54.10-P-0002-01A
2 Remove the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) IMPORTANT Do not detach electrical couplings. Do not remove the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) from the bracket.
IMPORTANT If a side wall covering without access flap for the CD changer has been installed, this must be replaced with one with an access flap.

INSTALLING Install     
3 Extend fiber optical cable ring for components to be retrofitted NOTESRisk of breakage!  Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps. AN82.64-P-0001-05NO 
4 Install audio gateway control unit (N93/1)

5 Retrofit CD changer in trunk   AN82.64-P-0001-04NO 
6 Perform startup with STAR DIAGNOSIS. IMPORTANT Perform nominal/actual configuration.  
7 Perform function check IMPORTANT See owner's manual.  
8 Fit remaining parts to vehicle IMPORTANT If a side wall paneling without access flap for the CD changer has been installed, this must be replaced with one with an access flap.  
9 Add special equipment to the vehicle data card and to the online vehicle data card CD changer for 6 CDs (code 819)
