Telephone wiring harness connection plan
- Detach antenna line (29) from telephone wiring harness (20).
Antenna lead (29) is no longer required
- Tie back and insulate red/black lead (rt/sw).
Not required.
- Route wiring harness (20) in wiring ducts and along existing leads in vehicle.
- Route branch-off line to handset transmitter and receiver connector (X39/5) to center tunnel as shown in figure.
- Route telephone wiring harness (20) in cable duct below right front passenger seat.
- Route brown lead with round cable lug from telephone wiring harness (20) to inner right rocker panel ground (W28/2, see magnification) and connect.
- Route telephone wiring harness (20) to rear fuse box installation position (F4) in right wiring duct in right rear seat area.
- Detach yellow, two-way fuse box (30) from rear fuse and relay module (K40/5).
Fuse box (30) is plugged into plug-in fuse slots 62 and 63. Only fuse 62 is occupied.
- Detach red/black lead (rt/sw) from yellow, two-way fuse box (30), insulate and tie back (no longer required).
- Insert red/black lead (rt/sw) of telephone wiring harness (20) into yellow, two-way fuse box (30).
- Re-attach yellow, two-way fuse box (30) to rear fuse and relay module (K40/5) as shown in illustration.
Plug fuse box (30) into plug-in fuse slots 62 and 63.
- Place 47-pin black connector (27) and 12-pin black connector (26) of telephone wiring harness (20) on floor of vehicle in area of rear fuse and relay module (K40/5).
Connectors (26, 27) are connected to telephone transmitter/receiver later.
The cables for the hands-free system microphone are already pre-installed in the wiring harness that has been routed to the overhead control panel.
- Route telephone wiring harness (20) along existing cables to rear shelf and fix in position.
- Pull out 28-pin, black overhead control panel and frame floor system connector (X25/8) from rear shelf and disconnect.
- Open connector housing.
- Remove black lead from cell 1, insulate and tie back (no longer required).
- Insert black lead (sw) branch-off line of wiring harness (20) into cell 1.
- Remove white lead from cell 15, insulate and tie back (no longer required).
- Insert white lead (ws) branch-off line of wiring harness (20) into cell 15.
- Re-assemble connector housing again and connect.
- Route antenna wiring harness along existing leads into the right of the trunk.
- 22.1 Vehicles without stationary heater (code 228)
- Remove existing antenna line from cellular telephone and GPS roof antenna connector (A2/49x1), insulate and tie back (no longer required).
- Attach antenna line from telephone wiring harness (20) to cellular telephone and GPS roof antenna connector (A2/49x1).
- 22.2 Vehicles with stationary heater (code 228)
Attach antenna line of telephone wiring harness (20) to phone/CTEL/STH radio remote control antenna splitter (A2/53).
Connection is marked in black.
- 23 Solder blue/black lead (bl/sw) of telephone wiring harness (20) at left of driver's footwell to blue/black (bl/sw) lead of D2B/MOST wake-up signal connector sleeve (Z35/10) with solder connector.
- 24 Solder yellow/white lead (ge/ws) to yellow/white lead (ge/ws) of PIN 12 diagnostic socket connector sleeve (Z70/1) with solder connector.
- 25 Route black/yellow lead of telephone wiring harness (20) to left fuse box.
- 26 Unplug existing, white fuse box for fuse 18 (F1f18) from front fuse and relay module (K40/6), insulate and tie back (no longer required).
- 27 Attach new, white fuse box (32) of telephone wiring harness (20) to fuse 18 plug position.
