Brake Caliper (Front Floating): Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels.
- Disconnect brake pad contact sensor harness connector (1) at brake caliper. See Fig 1 .
- Press brake pedal with brake pedal locking device until replenishing port in brake master cylinder is shut off. Open bleed screw at brake caliper briefly to reduce pressure.
- Remove banjo bolt (51b) from brake caliper.
- Remove guide bolts (31c).
- Remove brake caliper (31a) with brake pads. Move floating caliper upwards (arrow) and remove.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace guide bolts (31c). Replace gaskets (51a). Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Before driving vehicle, operate brake pedal several times until pressure in brake system is built up and maintained. Check brake system for leaks. See TESTING FOR LEAKS USING PRESSURE GAUGE under TESTING.
NOTE:
DO NOT allow brake fluid supply reservoir to empty.
