	Check
	Risk of injury  caused by moving parts that can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases, even sever extremities.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components.	AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Raise vehicle with lifting platform
	Lift/jack up vehicle		AR00.60-P-1000G
2	Check universal joints (arrow) of steering shaft for axial play at steering gear and steering column	To do this, position screwdriver at forks of universal joints and press alternately with screwdriver and your hand. No axial play must be present.
3	Check universal joints (arrow) of steering shaft for radial play at steering gear and steering column	To do this, have a second person turn the steering wheel at short intervals alternately to the left and right. Simultaneously hold the universal joint in your hand and check for radial play. No radial play must be present.
4	Check ball heads (1) and pitman arms (2)		AP46.40-P-4650-02G
5	Check steering play (a)		AP46.00-P-4650-01G
	Clean
6	Clean left and right rubber boots (3) and surrounding area.
7	Check that left and right rubber boots (3) are undamaged and that they are seated firmly on contact surface.	If a rubber boot (3) is leaking or damaged, the affected joint must be replaced immediately because any dirt entering the joint will cause irreparable damage within a short time.
