2	Thoroughly clean cap of expansion reservoir and surrounding area	Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions and damage to the power steering.

3	Detach cap from expansion reservoir

4	Check seal of cap; replace if necessary
5	Check oil level and correct if necessary	In the case of expansion reservoirs with oil level marking on the vent protection tube or dipstick in the cap, the oil must be between the "MIN" and "MAX" markings when the vehicle is at operating temperature. When the oil is cold, the oil level must not fall below the "MIN" marking. In the case of expansion reservoirs with oil level marking on the inside of the reservoir (arrow), the oil must be approximately level with the marking when the vehicle is at operating temperature. When the oil is cold, the oil level must be 6 mm to 8 mm below this marking.

6	Checking power steering for leaks	If oil level is too low. Determine and rectify the cause of the leak against a separate repair order.
7	Install in the reverse order
