Coding Radio
NOTE:
A radio code is required to release radio from lockout (radio will not function). Radio code card is provided to vehicle owner by manufacturer.
- Obtain radio code number.
- If radio is disconnected from power supply, it cannot be operated by simply reconnecting. After switching on ignition and radio, the word "CODE" appears in display on radio.
- Enter code number with station button, e.g. number 1, station button 1.
After entering the first number the word "CODE" disappears and number entered appears followed by 4 dashes. The next character to be entered flashes. After entering all five numbers, the first character starts flashing again. In this state code number can be written over as frequently as desired. A correction can be made only by entering complete code number again.
- Confirm code number: Press TUNE, AUTO/SEEK or SC button. The radio automatically switches on and indicates radio station or frequency stored with station button 1.
- If an incorrect code number is entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears again on display. If an incorrect code is entered three times the word "WAIT" appears on display and the radio locks up for approximately 10 minutes. If code is entered incorrectly three times again, radio locks up again for 10 minutes. Three more incorrect entries (a total of 9 incorrect attempts) increases lock-up time to 60 minutes. Another three incorrect entries locks up radio for another 60 minutes. Waiting time starts only after radio is switched on.
