Removal & Installation

NOTE: Information applies to G500 only, manufacturer does not supply information for G55 AMG.
NOTE: Letters and numbers in parenthesis correspond to letters and numbers in illustrations.
  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. NOTE: When removing hoses, seal connections immediately with plugs to prevent brake fluid reservoir from running empty.
  3. Remove brake line (5) from brake hose (51) and seal off openings. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove brake line (6) from brake hose.
  5. Remove brake hose retaining clip (52) at front axle and body.
  6. Pull brake hose out of retaining rubbers (53).
  7. Installation is reverse of removal. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  . Check brake system for leaks. See TESTING FOR LEAKS USING PRESSURE GAUGE  under TESTING.
