Remove/install rear seat belts - AR91.40-P-0681GA

MODEL 463.200 /202 /204 /206 /207 /208 /209 /250 /254 /300 /303 /304 /306 /307 /308 /309 convertible

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by release of spring in the automatic belt retractor. Never disassemble automatic belt retractors. AS91.00-Z-0002-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100°C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1 Check seat belts and buckles for external damage and correct operation   AP91.40-P-9150GI
2 Remove retaining rail from window ledge IMPORTANT Only with model 463.200/204/207/300/304/307, model 463.208/308 up to end number 108894, with mechanical soft top. AR77.30-P-1000G
3 Remove side wall lining IMPORTANT With model 463.200/204/206/207/208/209/300/304/307/308 up to end number 108894, with mechanical soft top. AR68.30-P-1450G
In model 463.206/208/209/308 as of end number 108895, model 463.202/250/254/303/306/309, with hydraulic soft top. AR68.30-P-1450GA
4 Remove seat belt guide bracket (1) at roll bar TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1005-01C 
5 Remove belt end fitting (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1001-01C 
6 Activate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) IMPORTANT Only on model
463.243/244/245/250/309/322/323/332/333 with code (ET2) Tele-Aid - car telephone emergency call system, 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) Tele-Aid - car telephone emergency call system

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
7 Disconnect battery ground line AR54.10-P-0003G

8 Disconnect electrical connector of left rear (R12/6) or right rear (R12/7) emergency tensioning retractor squib    
9 Remove automatic belt retractor (3) NOTES Under no circumstances must oil or grease be used to eliminate noises, otherwise malfunctions may occur. Automatic belt retractors (3) that have been opened are no longer under warranty.
IMPORTANT Noises at inertia reel during belt retraction are caused by operation. The only available response to negative customer feedback regarding unacceptable noise levels is to replace the seat belt assembly in its entirety. If the seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor is replaced, the defective seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor must be disposed of properly: ↓

Render emergency tensioning retractors unusable
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Pay attention to left and right versions of inertia reel.

10 Thread seat belt out through body opening    
11 Install in the reverse order
