Install firewall half - AR62.25-P-1110-05CW

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 204.0.

  1. Remove firewall half (4), crossmember on firewall (5), inner A-pillar (9), fit and fix in place.

    IMPORTANT On model 204 SPECIAL TOOLSPECIAL TOOL use side portal frame with welding device for holding A-pillar and instrument panel carrier to adjust position.

    IMPORTANT On model 207.3, 212, 218 SPECIAL TOOL use side portal frame with straightening tool for holding A-pillar and instrument panel carrier to adjust position.

  2. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on crossmember on firewall (5) and firewall half (4) (areas A, B, C and D).

  3. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on crossmember on firewall (5) and firewall half (4) (areas E, F, G, H, I and J).
  4. Remove firewall half (4), crossmember on firewall (5), inner A-pillar and SPECIAL TOOL welding device or straightening tool for A-pillar mount and instrument panel carrier mount.
  5. Deburr rivet holes on firewall half (4) and crossmember on firewall (5) on both sides.
  6. Coat insides of those riveted joints that will not also be bonded with zinc dust paint.

  7. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Apply 2-component adhesive from the bottom (area A1 ).

    IMPORTANT Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.

  8. Install firewall half (4), fit and fix in place.
  9. Rivet firewall half (4) with Ø 6.4 x14 rivets (areas K and L).
  10. Rivet fire wall half (4) with Ø 6.4 x14 rivets (areas M and O).

    IMPORTANT Mounting console (6) can only be riveted with front wheel well (area N).

  11. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.

  12. Install crossmember on firewall (5), fit and fix in place.
  13. Rivet crossmember on firewall (5) with Ø 6.5 x12.5 rivets (area P).
  14. Rivet crossmember on firewall (5) with Ø 6.5 x12.5 rivets (areas Q, R and S).

  15. Install and adjust inner A-pillar (9).

    IMPORTANT On model 204 SPECIAL TOOL use welding device for holding A-pillar to adjust position.

    IMPORTANT On model 207.3, 212, 218 use straightening tool for holding A-pillar to adjust position.

  16. Fix inner A-pillar in place (9).
  17. SPECIAL TOOL Remove welding device or straightening tool.
  18. Install instrument panel crossmember (7), fit and fix in place.
  19. Install steering column tube mounting console (3), fasten with screws (8) to instrument panel crossmember (7) and fix in place.
  20. Remove instrument panel crossmember (7).
  21. Steering column tube mounting console (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area T).

  22. Remove inner A-pillar (9).
  23. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.

  24. Install crossmember below windshield (1), fit and fix in place.
  25. Crossmember below windshield (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas U and V).
  26. Crossmember below windshield (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area W).

    IMPORTANT Before installing mounting console (2), completely install wheel well (10).

  27. Install mounting console (2) and fit.

    IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Mount welding device for top longitudinal member plane; at the same time use SPECIAL TOOL device to fix the pedal pot mounting console in place.

  28. Drill mounting console (2) to Ø 6.7 mm (area X).
  29. Remove mounting console (2).
  30. Deburr rivet holes on both sides

  31. Apply 2-component adhesive on mating surfaces between mounting console (2) and firewall half (4).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.

  32. Install mounting console (2).
  33. Rivet console (2) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (area Y).
  34. Remove shavings and drill chips.
