Remove/install soft top compartment lid - AR77.37-P-4175QA

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury  when performing check and repair work in area of roll bar Before working in the area of the roll bar, pull out the rear head restraints by hand.
Keep body parts out of the area where the roll bar extends.

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by moving parts that can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when components are in motion. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

1 Open trunk lid    
2 Remove left side wall lining in trunk   AR68.30-P-4601QA
3 Disconnect connector (3) from soft top compartment lid limit switch (2)    
4 Unclip retaining bolts (4) and pull out    
5 Press foam rubber (5) of soft top compartment lid hydraulic cylinder (1) to side with mounting wedge. SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Figure
6 Remove retainer (7) from pin (8)    
7 Pull out bolt (8) and remove hydraulic cylinder (1) from bracket (11).    
8 Unclip soft top compartment lid locked limit switch (S84/23) from hydraulic cylinder (1)    
9 Remove locking plate (9) from hydraulic lines (10) On left side of vehicle.  
10 Pull hydraulic lines (10) out of hydraulic cylinder (1) IMPORTANT Collect hydraulic oil which flows out in a suitable vessel.  
11 Remove all sealing rings from hydraulic lines (10)
12 Slide new sealing rings onto hydraulic lines (10)
Hydraulic fluids (Sheet 343.0) BB00.40-P-0343-00A
13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Check oil level of hydraulic line, correct if necessary
