Do not fit assembly lever to protection ring, as the protection ring may be damaged as a result.
Support the assembly lever on the rear axle center assembly (13) e.g. using an open-end wrench.
Installation:
Replace circlip (11) on inner splined shaft profile. |

Check constant velocity joints and rubber boots on rear axle shaft (37) for leaks and damage |
If the rubber boot or constant velocity joint is defective, the rear axle shaft (37) must be replaced complete. |

Install in the reverse order |

Check oil level in rear axle center assembly (13) and correct if necessary |
Premixing old universal hypoid transmission oil and new FE hypoid transmission oil should be avoided due to the better fuel economy. |
