Repairing fixed caliper on rear axle - AR42.10-P-0151A

MODELS 129, 140, 170, 202, 208, 210

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing     
1 Remove brake pads on fixed caliper    
2 Remove, install rear brake caliper Models 129, 140, 170, 202, 208, 210 except CODE (957a) AMG engineering package AR42.10-P-0080AM 
    Models 202.028 /033, 210.055, 202.093,208.374, 210.074 /274, 210.072 with CODE (957a) AMG engineering package AR42.10-P-0080BM
DISASSEMBLINGASSEMBLING Disassemble/assemble     
3 Remove and replace heat shields On fixed caliper with heat shields.    
4 Press off dust caps (45) SPECIAL TOOL Pliers  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Use pliers (026) and appropriate plate (027). Fig 2
5 Hold piston (47) in place with resetting device (031) and carefully press out opposite piston with compressed air SPECIAL TOOL Resetting device Fig 5
    IMPORTANT If piston has rusted tight, replace fixed caliper.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Coat cylinder bore with brake fluid.
Put dust cap (45) over piston (47) and insert into cylinder bore together with piston. Push in piston using both hands.
NOTES Ensure correct seating.
NOTES Check position of piston (47) using checking gauge (019).		  
    SPECIAL TOOL Checking gauge Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL If necessary, correct using pliers (020). Fig 3
6 Remove piston seal from the groove in the cylinder bore IMPORTANTInstallation:  Coat new piston seal with brake fluid.  
7 Check and clean piston and cylinder bore, and replace if necessary    
NOTES Notes on damage to piston or cylinder bore on fixed or floating caliper.   AH42.10-P-9406-03A
    Test values for rear axle fixed caliper ↓

8 Assemble in reverse order    
9 Press out opposite piston and repair second half of fixed caliper
