Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove return spring (94). See Fig 1
.
- Loosen adjusting screw (89).
- Remove self-locking bolt (93) at intermediate lever and front brake cable.
- Working inside of vehicle, remove rubber hand grip (75a) from parking brake lever (75). Rubber hand grip is held on with suction, if necessary cut rubber hand grip off of parking brake lever.
- Remove cover on gearshift lever (111). See GEARSHIFT LEVER COVER
.
- Remove rear center console (115). See REAR CENTER CONSOLE
.
- Remove contact switch for parking brake lever indicator lamp.
- Remove bolts (72) and pull out parking brake lever towards dash.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Adjust parking brake. See PARKING BRAKE
under ADJUSTMENTS.
