Pneumatic system equipment, general notes on diagnosis, advanced information, PSE - AD80.20-P-2000-02A
The PSE makes vacuum or pressure available for the following systems:
- Central locking (CL), (pressure, vacuum)
- actuation via radio frequency/IR remote central locking (RFL/RCL), interior switch CL,
also possible with mechanical key.
- actuation via radio frequency/IR remote central locking (RFL/RCL), interior switch CL,
- Remote trunk release (RTR), (pressure)
- actuation via remote trunk release switch or via radio frequency/IR remote control (RTR not on model 170).
- Retractable rear head restraints (RHR), (vacuum)
- actuation via rear head restraints release switch (RHR on model 140 only).
- Multi-contour seat (MCS), (pressure), (MCS on models 129/140 only)
- the operating pressure is controlled solely via the pressure switch in the PSE, with ignition: ON.
- Manifold vacuum assist (MVA), (vacuum), (model 140 only)
- the operating pressure is controlled solely via pressure switch in the PSE with ignition: ON.
Fault memory
- Pneumatic and electrical faults in the CL, RTR, RHR, MCS, MVA systems are detected by the PSE and stored in the fault memory. The fault memory can only be read out and erased using the Hand-Held Tester.
Additional components in the PSE
- Crash sensor for emergency unlocking
- Rear window defroster relay (model 170 only)
- ATA control module (special equipment), (model 170 only)
