The locking status of the radio frequency/infrared DAS control module is confirmed by the turn signals. The radio frequency DAS control module (N54/3) or the radio frequency/infrared DAS control module (N54/4) transmits a ground signal to the combination relay or the lock confirmation relay.
Lock confirmation relay models 129/140
Radio frequency/infrared DAS control module (N54/4) ↓ combination relay (N10/2) ↓ turn signals
Lock confirmation relay model 170
Radio frequency DAS control module (N54/3) ↓ lock confirmation relay (K54) ↓ turn signals
When the hazard warning flasher is switched on the turn signals are not actuated.
When vehicle is locked
the turn signals flash 3 times at a frequency of 1.5 Hz.
When vehicle is unlocked
the turn signals flash once
If desired by customer the programming for confirmation with the turn signals can be cancelled with the version coding feature using the handheld tester.
Unlocking or locking the vehicle manually with the driver's door lock cylinder or the trunk lid lock cylinder also triggers an unlocking or locking procedure.
In this case the turn signals are not actuated.
