Modification notes

23.2.01

Sealing cord modified in AS. 8 and 9.

	Removing
1	Open Vario roof
2	Remove paneling from A-pillar		AR68.30-P-4050G
3	Remove covering at top of windshield		AR68.30-P-4250G
4	Unscrew screw (4) on A-pillar, top
5	Pull seal (1) out of rail (3)
6	Unscrew screws (2) and pull out rail (3)	Replace sealing cord (5) on rail (3) if damaged.
7	Pull seal (1) off of cross member above windshield	Remove residues of sealing cord (6) from cross member. For reuse, remove residues of sealing cord (6) from seal (1).
	Cleaning
8	Clean gluing area of sealing cords	Gluing surface must be free of grease.
	Installation
9	Fasten new sealing cord (6) ø 4mm as illustrated to corner of A-pillar and cross member above windshield by pressing down lightly.	Reference point for positioning sealing cord, weld (10) on A-pillar and cross member. Press sealing cord (6) on approx. 11 mm (dimension a) below outer edge.
10	Fasten new sealing cord (8) ø 6mm on A-pillar in direction of cross member above windshield by pressing down lightly beginning at hole for expanding anchor (7) as illustrated.	Ensure that sealing cord (6) ø 4mm overlaps sufficiently.
11	Install rail (3)	Observe impression of screw head (2) on rail (3).
12	Position seal (1) left and right on rail (3) at top, insert sealing cord (9) into rail (3) and press down into corner of A-pillar
13	Position seal (1) on flange on cross member and carefully knock into corner (arrow) with blunt wide plastic wedge and rubber hammer	Do not damage seal (1); beating too hard can result in waves in seal. Danger of water leak!
14	Screw in screw (4) at top of A-pillar
15	Install seal (1) in rail (3)	Use liquid lubricant to install seals. Do not use any lubricant in the area of the sealing cord (corner of A-pillar), because otherwise the sealing cords will not adhere to the paint and seals.	*BR00.45-Z-1010-06A
16	Install seal (9) in rail (3)	Observe butt joint (arrow) with seal (1).
17	Install paneling on A-pillar		AR68.30-P-4050G
18	Install covering at top of windshield		AR68.30-P-4250G
19	Open and close Vario roof a number of times
20	Perform rain test
