NOTE: Function of airbag indicator and warning lamp (A1e15) SRS

Airbag indicator and warning lamp goes out after approx. 4 s → system in order.
Airbag indicator and warning lamp goes out after approx. 2 min → system fault, which does not impair occupant safety.
Vehicle without side airbag:
- Undervoltage
- Airbag indicator and warning lamp SRS
- Seat belt buckle
Vehicle with side airbag:

Airbag indicator and warning lamp goes out after approx.

4-20 s → system in order.

Airbag indicator and warning lamp illuminated in the event of the following faults for as long as the faults exist
- Undervoltage
- Airbag indicator and warning lamp SRS
- Communication fault in the side airbag sensors
- Seat belt buckle
- Seat occupied recognition
Airbag indicator and warning lamp illuminated permanently → system fault which can result in failure to deploy/incorrect deployment.
Airbag indicator and warning lamp flashes after replacing the control module → control module programming/parameterizing not carried out.

Airbag indicator and warning lamp can only be erased via the Hand-Held Tester if there is no current fault

Function of airbag OFF indicator lamp (E16, N72e1)

On vehicles with automatic child seat recognition (ACSR) only:

MB Babysafe child seat not fitted on front passenger seat:

MB Babysafe child seat fitted:

If the MB Babysafe child seat is fitted the airbag OFF indicator lamp (E16, N72e1) comes on and signals the recognition of the child seat.

The front passenger airbag is switched off. The side airbag and emergency tensioning retractor remain in operation.

The airbag OFF indicator lamp is dimmed when the vehicle lights are switched on.
