- Modify auto-pilot system wiring harness (1) according to figure (tie out all wires not required).

- Prepare auto-pilot system (1) wiring harness as shown in figure
- Route wiring harness along existing wires in vehicle as shown in figure.
- Route auto-pilot system wiring harness (1) along existing wires in trunk as shown in figure.
- Connect brown wire to ground (right wheelhouse in trunk) (W7).
- Install new terminal on red/yellow wire (rt/ge) (circuit 30) from wiring harness (1) and connect to fuse 23 in fuse box in trunk (F4).
- Solder gray/yellow wire (gr/ge) for back-up lamp signal from wiring harness (1) to gray/yellow wire (gr/ge) for right taillamp using solder connector.
- Route wiring harness (1) through rear wall on right forward in cable duct below passenger seat to right foot support.
- Route yellow (ge), blue (bl) and black/yellow wires (sw/ge) from auto-pilot system wiring harness (1) from right foot support to module box.
- Open data link connector (X 11/4).
- Insert blue wire (bl) into chamber 32 on data link connector (X11/4).
- Close data link connector (X11/4).
- Disconnect the smaller of the two connectors (2) from the traction system control module and open at rear.
- Install new terminal on yellow wire (ge) and insert into free chamber 2 on connector (2).
- Solder black/yellow wire (sw/ge) to green/white wire (gn/ws) from chamber 1 in connector (2) using solder connector.
- Jack up vehicle at front until front wheels can be turned.
- Connect battery, switch on ignition.
- Use multimeter to measure DC voltage between yellow wire (ge), black/yellow wire (sw/ge) and ground. The yellow wire (ge) is for the right front wheel signal. The black/yellow wire (sw/ ge) is for the left front wheel signal with wheel standing still "0 V or 12 V" and with wheel turning approx. "6 V". A pulse signal should be measurable when wheel is turning (rectangular signal).
- Switch off ignition, disconnect battery.
- Route tie-out to radio and navigation operating unit (APS) in radio shaft.
- Solder black/gray/red wire (sw/gr/rt) to pink/green wire (rs/gn) from radio connector (3) with solder connector (circuit 15 R).
