1. Connect quiescent current retention device (7) as follows:
   • Connect terminal on positive lead (+) to positive pole on battery.
   • Connect terminal on negative lead (-) to battery ground (W10).
2. Switch on quiescent current retention device (7).

3. Disconnect negative pole terminal (1) from battery.
4. Connect multimeter (2) with electrical connection set:
   • Connect positive test cable (+) to negative lead (1) on battery.
   • Connect negative test cable (-) to negative pole (3) on battery.

5. Switch on multimeter (2) (amps mode).
6. Switch off quiescent current retention device (7) and disconnect.
7. Extend test cable (6) out of engine compartment.
