Removal & Installation

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels.
  2. Remove parking brake shoes. See PARKING BRAKE SHOES  .
  3. Remove brake cables (86) from compensating lever (92). See Fig 3 .
  4. Remove brake cables from frame floor using snap release tool (043).
  5. Remove brake cable from wheel carrier. Remove retaining bolts (83a) for brake cover (83) and pull brake cover towards hub. See Fig 1 . Unclip brake cable and sleeve (085) from wheel carrier, inserting sleeve in wheel carrier for brake cable. See Fig 2 . Pull brake cable out of wheel carrier.
  6. Installation is the reverse of removal. Torque nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
