	Removing
	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting engine, actuate brake pedal several times until the pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A
1	Remove wheel
	Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary		AP40.10-P-4050G
2	Press back brake pads (1)
	Measure
3	Check wheel bearing play using dial indicator	With run-in wheel bearings, try to achieve a wheel bearing play of 0.03 mm.

	Adjust
4	Pull off the grease cap (2).	Removal and installation tool	Fig 3
5	Unlock outer slotted nut
6	Screw on retainer wrench	Retainer wrench	Fig 6
7	Unscrew outer slotted nut	Claw-type wrench	Fig 5
8	Remove locking plate
9	Loosen inner slotted nut	Claw-type wrench	Fig 5
10	Tighten inner slotted nut	Initial torque 200 Nm. While tightening the wheel hub should be spun at least three times continuously, and in doing so a rubber hammer applied crosswise to the wheel hub (to settle and align the bearing rollers).
11	Release inner slotted nut and tighten again until it makes zero-clearance contact with the pressure plate.	Claw-type wrench	Fig 5
12	Release inner slotted nut, until approx. 0.1 mm play is given	By an angle of approx. 45°.

13	Install locking plate
14	Smear outer slotted nut using multipurpose grease and tighten	Chamfer of outer slotted nut must point towards locking plate.

	Measure
15	Check wheel bearing play	Adjust wheel bearing play again if necessary. Carry out steps 5 to 14 again to do this.
