Camshaft Hall sensor, function - GF07.04-P-4117-02HA
The signal line of the camshaft Hall sensor has a voltage signal of approximately 12 V ("high"). If the segment of the camshaft sprocket (a) moves past the Hall sensor, the signal jumps to 0 V ("low").
This "0-V signal" is used to detect the ignition TDC of cylinder 1 (b).
If no signal is received from the camshaft Hall sensor, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) determines the ignition TDC of cylinder 1 randomly. The engine starts about 1 second later and the exhaust emission values when starting are not optimal.
The distance between the camshaft Hall sensor and the segment at the camshaft sprocket cannot be adjusted and is determined by its installation position.
