Activated charcoal canister shutoff valve - task The activated charcoal canister shutoff valve locks the aeration/venting line for the activated charcoal canister for testing the leaks in the fuel system (leak test).
Activated charcoal canister shutoff valve - design The activated charcoal canister shutoff valve consists of a solenoid that closes the activated charcoal canister shutoff valve when current is applied. A mechanical safety valve is also installed.
Activated charcoal canister shutoff valve - function For the leak test, the activated charcoal canister shutoff valve is activated by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) at the ground end.
If the shutoff valve is faulty (shutoff valve does not open any more) then the mechanical safety valve takes on aeration of the activated charcoal canister (from about -25 mbar).
