Location

The light switch module is located in the dashboard next to the driver door.

Design

The light switch module contains the following components:

Rotary light switch (S1s1) with the following positions:

Left parking lights (1)
Right parking lights (2)
Off (3)
Auto on/off headlamps (4)
Standing light (5)
Low beam (6)

Task

The driver can manually activate and monitor the exterior lights with headlamp cleaning system (SRA) and the outside mirror adjustment of the vehicle via the various switch positions of the light switch module.

The positions of the light switch module are read in discretely by the front signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1).

The front fog lights are switched on by turning the exterior lights switch to the standing light or low beam position and then pulling it to the first detent position.

Pulling to the second detent position additionally switches the rear fog lamp on.
