Location
The MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group is located in the stowage compartment under the armrest.
Task
The MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group is responsible for the following two functions:
- Manual triggering of an MB-Info call
- Manual triggering of breakdown assistance (Roadside Assistance)
In order to activate the emergency call system, the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group must be operated for longer than t = 0.5 s with circuit 15 On, for longer than t = 2 s with circuit 15 Off.
System activation is indicated by a flashing light emitting diode in the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group. When the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group is operated, an SMS (SMS = Short Message Service) is automatically sent and at the same time a voice connection to the service center (Customer Assistance Center) is set up.
