1. Ignition switch in driving position (position "2") and when starting the engine 
   1. 1.1 ABS/ESP/4-ETS warning lamp (A1e36) and ABS indicator lamp (A1e17) come on and turn off again 
      • The ABS/ESP/4-ETS warning lamp (A1e36) and the ABS indicator lamp (A1e17) come on in the instrument cluster (A1) when the ignition key is turned to the driving position. Both lamps turn off when the engine has been started. This indicates that the ABS is operational.
2. When driving 
   1. 2.1 ABS/ESP/4-ETS warning lamp (A1e36) switched off 
      • The ABS/ESP/4-ETS warning lamp (A1e36) remains off if no faults occur when driving even if the ABS control mode is active.
   2. 2.2 ABS/ESP/4-ETS warning lamp (A1e36) comes on and stays on 
      • The ABS/ESP/4-ETS warning lamp (A1e36) comes on and stays on when the differential locks are activated and the ABS is therefore not available.
   3. 2.3 ABS indicator lamp (A1e17) comes on and stays on 
      • The ABS indicator lamp (A1e17) comes on and stays on when
        • the differential locks are activated,
        • or the ABS is deactivated due to
          • an operational problem with the ABS

            The brake system continues to function normally.

          • or if undervoltage occurs for the ABS voltage supply.
   4. 2.4 Multifunction display (A1p13) 
      • If the ABS is not available if the
        • differential locks are activated
        • or if there is a fault with the ABS a message appears in the multifunction display (A1p13) together with the "ABS" symbol.
