Balancing wheels on vehicles with ETS, ASR or ESP - AR40.10-P-1040-03A

Balancing the rear wheels on models 124 and 129 without module housing 

  1. Ignition OFF. 
  2. Unplug connector from ASR control module or relay of hydraulic unit.
  3. Support rear axle spring links with measurement stands.
  4. Drive rear wheels with the engine (approx. 120-140 km/h).
  5. After balancing, ignition OFF. 
  6. Plug in connector from ASR control module or relay of hydraulic unit.

Balancing the rear wheels on models 124 and 129 with module housing, model 140, model 170 with 

38-pin data link connector, models 202, 208 and 210 except 210.08/28 

  1. Ignition OFF. 
  2. Plug adapter for pulse counter (075) 140 589 14 63 00 into data link connector X11/4.
  3. Install jumper between jacks 6 and 1.

    IMPORTANT The control module is now switched off and the warning lamp in the instrument cluster lights up.

  4. Support rear axle spring links with measurement stands.
  5. Drive rear wheels with the engine (approx. 120-140 km/h).
  6. After balancing, ignition OFF. 
  7. Disconnect adapter for pulse counter (075).

    IMPORTANT

    On model 129 the speed signal from the rear axle when the vehicle is raised causes a fault to be stored in the soft top control module. Erase the fault code after balancing the wheels.
