  1. Read out DTC's with HHT and erase if necessary.
  2. Perform version coding for automatic child seat recognition with HHT.
    Entry/procedure Function
    Main menu Select programming
    Seat occupied recognition Select ON
    Child seat recognition Select ON
  3. Check for proper function by positioning MB child seat on passenger seat facing forward.

    IMPORTANT The automatic child seat recognition airbag OFF indicator lamp (E16) should come on. ON must be displayed in the HHT menu actual values, function child seat recognition.

  4. Lift MB child seat from passenger seat.

    IMPORTANT The automatic child seat recognition airbag OFF indicator lamp (E16) should go out. OFF must be displayed in the HHT menu actual values, function child seat recognition.

  5. Check for proper function by positioning MB child seat on passenger seat facing toward rear.

    IMPORTANT The automatic child seat recognition airbag OFF indicator lamp (E16) should come on. ON must be displayed in the HHT menu actual values, function child seat recognition.
