Remove/install front axle brake caliper - AR42.10-P-0070EM

MODEL 202.028, 210.055 with CODE (957a) AMG engineering package C 36, E 36

Modification notes

29.7.99 BA42.10-P-1001-04A with model 210 modified from 18 Nm to 14 Nm    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

1 Remove front wheels    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE AP40.10-P-4050Z    
2 Disconnect brake hose (51) first from brake line (5) and then from fixed caliper (31) NOTES Seal connections immediately with plugs. The brake fluid reservoir must not be allowed to empty completely.

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Brake line (5) to brake hose (51) *BA42.10-P-1001-04A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Brake hose (51) to fixed caliper *BA42.10-P-1002-04A

REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Brake hose connection to bake line modified MODEL 202, 210 as of 09.95 BT42.10-P-0001-01A
3 Unplug contact sensor (S10/1) from connector (57) IMPORTANT Front axle contact sensor Depending on number of plug contacts, install one or two contact sensors at each wheel. Location of contact sensors with: Fixed brake caliper from Lucas: on outer brake pad.

4 Unbolt plug connection (57)    
5 Remove speed sensor (L6/1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Hexagon socket bolts (30) *BA42.30-P-1001-01A 
6 Unbolt fixed caliper (31) from steering knuckle NOTESInstallation:  Install new self-locking bolts (35).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA42.10-P-1001-02A 
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-P-0010A 
9 Check brake system for leaks   AR42.10-P-0100-01A
