Adjust trunk lid - AR88.50-P-5200F

  Adjust in longitudinal direction     
1 Loosen bolts (7) on left and right hinge lever (8)    
2 Loosen bolts (1) at striker eye (2)    
3 Loosen bolt (6) at stop (5), push stop toward rear    
4 Adjust trunk lid so that rear edge of trunk lid is flush with the fender and rear center section. SPECIAL TOOL
IMPORTANT See areas B and C, simultaneously maintain gap Dimensions ↓

IMPORTANT Adjust installation position of trunk lid with eccentric bolts (11) for larger range of adjustment (see step 10-21)

5 Tighten bolts (7) on hinge lever (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA88.50-P-1001-01A 
  Adjust height     
6 Adjust front edge of trunk lid by aligning height of hinge lever so that outer edges are flush with rear fenders SPECIAL TOOL
IMPORTANT See area C, simultaneously maintain gap. Dimensions ↓

IMPORTANT Adjust installation position of trunk lid with eccentric bolts (11) for larger range of adjustment (see step 10-21)

7 Press trunk lid downward at rear until top edge of trunk lid is flush with rear fender. See area D
IMPORTANT Bolts on striker eye loose
 
8 Remove/install and adjust trunk lid lock and striker eye   AR88.50-P-5020F 
9 Adjust stop (5) such that it makes contact when trunk lid is closed IMPORTANT Slight deviations in the position of the upper edge of the trunk lid to the rear fender can be compensated by adjusting the stop.  
  Adjustment of eccentric bolt     
10 Remove rear seat and rear backrest   AR91.12-P-1700F
11 Remove rear head restraint   AR91.16-P-1770E
12 Remove paneling on C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4490F
13 Remove rear shelf   AR68.30-P-4580F
14 Loosen nut (9) on eccentric bolts (11)    
15 Adjust installation position of trunk lid with eccentric bolts (11) IMPORTANT As described in step 1-9.  
16 Tighten nut (9) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA88.50-P-1003-01A 
17 Close trunk lid and check for proper function    
18 Install rear shelf   AR68.30-P-4580F
19 Install paneling on C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4490F
20 Install rear head restraints   AR91.16-P-1770E
21 Install rear seat and rear backrest   AR91.12-P-1700F
