Installing trunk lid auxiliary lock - AN88.50-P-0001-01A
- Close rotary catch on lock (1).
- Assemble lock cylinder (2) and lock (1) ensuring that driver (3) engages in guide (4).
- Attach yellow pneumatic line to trunk lid CL actuator.
- Connect 3-pin connector for trunk lid lock switch.
only.
- Install trunk lid lock (5) in trunk lid.
- Start screws (6), however, do not yet tighten.
- Insert connecting rods (7, 8) into driver (9) on lock cylinder (1).
- Install cover (10) in trunk lid and slide onto lock cylinder (1).
Clip (12) should catch audibly in recess (c) in cover (10).
- Press trunk lid lock (5) toward rear against lock cylinder rubber seal and tighten screws (6).
- Install cover (13, 14) in trunk lid and slide over connecting rods (7, 8).
- Hold covers (13, 14) with one plastic clip each (15) mounted on outside.
- Install catches (16, 17) in trunk lid inserting connecting rods (7, 8) into drivers (18, 19).
Ensure that catches (16, 17) are installed in correct engagement direction.
- Tighten catches (16, 17) with screws (20).
- Install cage nuts (21) on rear center element.
- Install strikers (22, 23) in rear center element.
- Start screws (24), however, only tighten to the point that the strikers (22, 23) can still be moved.
- Press button on trunk lid lock; all three catches should move from the locked to the unlocked position.
- Close rotary catch on lock again; both auxiliary catches should also move to the locked position simultaneously.
- Press button on trunk lid lock, all three catches should again move from the locked to the unlocked position.
- Close trunk lid.
This centers the strikers.
- Open trunk lid.
- Tighten screws (24).
- Check retaining lugs on catches (16, 17).
The retaining lugs on the catches (16, 17) should be approx. 2-3 mm from the strikers (22, 23) with the trunk lid closed.
Check visually if necessary.
