Retrofitting wiring harness of CD changer - AZ82.64-P-0001-01H

Model 210.2 as of 1.7.98 with code 316, 347 without code 351, 813b

  1. Check fiber optic cable routing in load compartment on right and below left rear seat and note components connected in D2B ring.

IMPORTANT The maximum component sequence is:

    • Radio (A2)
    • CD changer (A2/6)
    • Voice control module (A35/11)
    • CTEL interface (A34/4) or TELE AID control module (A35/8)
    • Radio (A2).

If a component is not installed its position in the maximum sequence is eliminated and resulting in a new sequence. This allows determination of the route for the fiber optic cables in the vehicle.

IMPORTANT In this special case it is only permissible to install a CTEL interface (A34/4) or a TELE AID control module (A35/8) below the left rear seat.

  2. Remove fiber optic cable module M1 installed as standard equipment from D2B connectors on radio (A2) and from corresponding control module below left rear seat (A34/4) or (A35/8) and tie back (no longer required).
  3. The D2B fiber optic cable ring is supplemented with two new fiber optic cable modules M1 and M2.

    Length M1 = 5605 mm

    Length M2 = 5780 mm

  4. Route new fiber optic cable modules M1 and M2 as shown in figure and if possible along existing fiber optic cables in vehicle.

IMPORTANT Observe special guidelines for routing fiber optic cables. The module M3 (dotted line) remains unchanged (standard equipment).

  5. Route white insert (ws) from fiber optic cable module M2 and red insert (rt) from fiber optic cable module M1 in load compartment on the right into a new connector and close connector.
  6. Route white insert (ws) from module M1 into connector on radio (A2) and close connector.
