Retrofitting wiring harness of CD changer - AZ82.64-P-0001-01F
Model 210.0 as of 1.7.98 with code 316, 317, 347 except code 351
- Check fiber optic cable routing in trunk on left and note connected components in D2B ring.
The maximum component sequence is:
- Radio (A2)
- CD changer (A2/6)
- Voice control module (A35/11)
- CTEL interface (A34/4) or TELE AID control module (A35/8)
- Radio (A2).
If a component is not installed its position in the maximum sequence is eliminated and resulting in a new sequence. This allows determination of the route for the fiber optic cables in the vehicle.
- Remove red insert (rt) from the fiber optic cable module M1 coming from the radio (A2) from the connector on the control module for voice control (A35/11) or on the CTEL interface (A34/4) or on TELE AID control module (A35/8) (corresponding to components installed in vehicle) and insert into new connector housing.
- Insert new fiber optic cable module M2 with white insert (ws) into new connector housing and lock housing.
The fiber optic cable module M2 must be long enough to connect the CD changer (A2/6) to the next D2B ring component.
Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.
- Insert red insert (rt) from new fiber optic cable module M2 into old connector of next ring component and lock. Reconnect connector on corresponding control module.
- Route fiber optic cable along existing leads observing special routing guidelines and fasten with adhesive felt.
- Prepare CD changer (1) power supply wiring harness as shown in figure.
- Route CD changer (1) power supply wiring harness from trunk to left wiring duct as shown in figure.
- In area of B-pillar solder left blue/black lead (bl/sw) from wiring harness (1) to blue/black lead (bl/sw) on end sleeve (Z35/10) of wake-up signal with D2B (fiber optic network) using solder connector.
- Route power supply wiring harness (1) from driver's seat below carpeting to radio (A2) as shown in figure and fasten with felt.
- Route tie-out in radio shaft as shown in figure.
- Route black lead (sw) into chamber 5 and brown lead (br) into chamber 6 of black 10-pin connector of standard wiring harness.
