Retrofitting fiber optic cable wiring harness - AN82.70-P-0002-01CD

Model 210.2 

  1. Check fiber optic cable in passenger compartment.

    IMPORTANT The equipment sequence is as follows:

    • Radio (A2)
    • CTEL interface (A34/4)
    • Radio (A2).

  2. Remove white (ws) insert of present M1 fiber optic cable module from radio (A2) connector.
  3. Remove red (rt) insert of present M1 fiber optic cable module from CTEL interface (A34/4) connector and remove fiber optic cable module (no longer required).
  4. Insert new M1 fiber optic cable module with red (rt) insert into new connector housing.

  5. Insert white (ws) insert for new M1 fiber optic cable module into radio (A2) connector and lock connector.
  6. Route new M1 fiber optic cable module from radio to right side of load compartment along present leads and lay new connector housing into right spare wheel recess.
  7. Insert second M2 fiber optic cable module with white (ws) insert into new connector in right spare wheel recess, lock connector and connect to voice control system control module (A35/11).
  8. Connect locked connector on CTEL interface (A34/4).

    IMPORTANT The M1 and M2 fiber optic cable modules should be just long enough to connect the radio with the voice control system control module (A35/1) and from there connecting the CTEL interface (A34/4).

    Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.

  9. Route M2 fiber optic cable module to CTEL interface (A34/4) along present leads while observing special routing guidelines and fasten with adhesive felt.
  10. Insert red (rt) insert for new M2 fiber optic cable module into old CTEL interface (A34/4) connector and lock. Reconnect connector.
  11. The M3 fiber optic cable module (illustrated as dotted line) remains unchanged in the vehicle.
