Retrofitting fiber optic cable wiring harness - AN82.70-P-0002-01CC

Model 210.0 

  1. Before the D2B ring can be expanded it is first necessary to determine the current vehicle configuration.

  2. Check fiber optic cable routing in trunk on left.

    IMPORTANT The equipment sequence on vehicles without  CD player with changer is:

    • Radio (A2)
    • CTEL interface (A34/4)
    • Radio (A2)

      On vehicles with  CD player with changer (illustrated in figure):

    • Radio (A2)
    • CD changer (A2/6)
    • CTEL interface (A34/4)
    • Radio (A2)

  3. Illustrated on vehicle with CD player with changer (A2/6) 

  4. Remove red (rt) insert for present M2 fiber optic cable module from CTEL interface (A34/4) connector and insert into new connector housing.
  5. Insert new M3 fiber optic cable module with white (ws) insert into new connector housing and lock housing.

    IMPORTANT The M3 fiber optic cable module should be just long enough to connect the CTEL interface (A34/4) with the voice control system control module (A35/11). Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.

  6. Connect locked new connector to voice control system control module (A35/11).

  7. Insert red (rt) insert for new M3 fiber optic cable module into old CTEL interface (A34/4) connector and lock. Reconnect connector.
  8. Route fiber optic cable along present leads while observing special routing guidelines and fasten with adhesive felt.
