Auto-pilot system schematic
- Prepare auto-pilot system (1) wiring harness according to figure
Auto-pilot system connection schematic
- Route wiring harness along existing leads in vehicle according to figure.
- Route auto-pilot system (1) wiring harness along existing wires in trunk according to figure.
- Connect brown lead to ground (taillamp in trunk) (W6/1).
- Solder gray/yellow lead (gr/ye) for backup lamp signal in wiring harness (1) to gray/yellow lead (gr/ye) for taillamp on left in trunk lid with solder connector.
- Route auto-pilot system (1) wiring harness in left cable duct to driver footwell.
- Route tie-out to radio and navigation operating unit (A2/29) in driver footwell according to figure and fasten with felt.
- Route yellow (ye) lead and black/yellow (bk/ye) lead from auto-pilot system (1) wiring harness through center tunnel to passenger footwell according to figure.
- Continue to route yellow lead (ye) (tie-out for right wheel speed signal) to control module box.
- Route black/yellow lead (bk/ye) (tie-out left wheel speed signal) to wiring duct on right A- pillar.
- Install round terminal on black/yellow lead (bk/ye) and connect to terminal block (left front traction system VSS sensor) (X62/19).
- Install contact spring (arrow) on yellow lead (ye).
- Disconnect the larger of the two connectors from traction system control module (N47) and open.
- Insert contact spring for yellow lead (ye) into chamber 23 of connector.
- Close connector and reconnect to traction system control module (N47).
- Jack up vehicle at front until front wheels can be rotated.
- Connect battery, switch on ignition.
- Measure DC voltage between yellow lead (ye); black/yellow lead (bk/ye) and ground with multimeter. Yellow lead (ye) for right front wheel signal. Black/yellow lead (bk/ye) for left front wheel signal, reading with wheel standing still "0 V or 12 V", with wheel rotating approx. "6V". A pulse signal should be present when the wheel is turning.
- Switch off ignition, disconnect battery.
- Route tie-out to radio and navigation operating unit APS in radio shaft.
- Route tie-out to front fuse and relay box (F1) and to data link connector (X11/4) to fuse box in front.
- Install new terminal on red/yellow lead (terminal 30) from wiring harness (1) and connect to fuse 5 in fuse and relay box (F1).
- Install new terminal on black/gray/red lead (bk/gr/rd) and connect to fuse 13 in fuse and relay box (F1).
- Open data link connector (X11/4).
- Route blue lead (bl) from chamber 32 to data link connector (X11/4).
- Close data link connector (X11/4).
