Retrofitting TV tuner wiring harness - AN82.60-P-0001-03E

  1. Route wiring harness (1) along existing lines in vehicle as shown in figure and fasten with cable strap.

  2. Route wiring harness (1) from trunk along present leads as shown in figure.

  3. Connect brown lead to ground (left taillamp in trunk) (W6/1).

  4. Route tie-out to rear fuse box (F4).
  5. Connect red/brown (rt/br) lead, circuit 30 to fuse 10.

  6. Solder blue/black (bl/sw) lead from wiring harness in wiring duct on left B-pillar to blue/black (bl/sw) lead from fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) with solder connector.

  7. Route wiring harness tie-out (1) to COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) in wiring duct below seat as shown in figure.

  8. Route all wiring harness tie-outs (1) to connector for COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) in center console.

  9. Only on vehicles with CD player with changer (code 819) 

    1. Tie back old standard connector for CD player with changer (A) in radio shaft (replaced by new connector (N) from wiring harness (1)).

    2. Only on vehicles with CD player with changer (code 819) 

    3. Unscrew screws (24) and remove CD player with changer (A2/6) together with mount (20).

    4. Only on vehicles with CD player with changer (code 819). 

    5. Remove standard connector from CD player with changer (A2/6) and tie back, connect new connector (23) of wiring harness (1).
    6. Only on vehicles with CD player with changer (code 819) 

    7. Reinstall CD player together with mount
    8. On vehicles without CD player with changer (code 819) 

    9. Tie back connector (23) in trunk to CD player with changer (1) for wiring harness (not required in this case).

  10. Open 18-pin standard connector in COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) on center console and pull out connector carrier.
  11. Insert long black (sw) lead from wiring harness (1) into chamber 17 and black/white (sw/ws) lead into chamber 18.

    If chambers 17 and 18 already contain a black (sw) lead or a black/white (sw/ws) lead remove them from the connector carrier and insert leads into enclosed 2-pin connector housing of CAN bus connection (2-pin) (X63/5).

  12. Insert yellow (ge) lead from wiring harness (1) into chamber 2, brown (br) lead into chamber 3, short black (sw) lead into chamber 11 and transparent GND lead into chamber 12 on COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3).

  13. If the 2-pin connector housing already contains the black or the black/white lead connect connector housing to wiring harness (1) as CAN bus connection (2-pin) (X63/5).

    IMPORTANT If this is not the case tie back CAN bus connection (2-pin) (X63/5) from wiring harness (1) (no longer required).

  14. Assemble connector for COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and connect.

  15. Route antenna tie-outs from wiring harness (1) to left C-pillar and continue to right C-pillar through headliner.

    NOTESDo not route leads in area of head airbag.

  16. Remove standard top left rear window antenna amplifier (A2/8) installed and unscrew connection leads and remove.

  17. Connect new red top left rear window antenna amplifier (A2/8) to standard wiring harness and TV tuner wiring harness (1).

    IMPORTANT Black 1-pin connector from standard wiring harness must be connected to white 1-pin connector housing from wiring harness (1) (arrow).

  18. Insert wiring harness (1) into omega clips (30) of standard wiring harness.

  19. Route standard wiring harness tie-out (1) to right C-pillar as shown in figure and fasten with cable strap.
  20. Connect top right rear window antenna amplifier (A2/9) and bottom right rear window antenna amplifier (A2/25) to wiring harness (1) and install on installation bolt below gas generator for right head airbag unit.
  21. Connect present antenna leads for rear window (tied back on gas generator) to antenna modules.
